Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

What is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

BJJ is a martial art that uses leverage to out position and ultimately submit your opponent in a variety of ways such as chokes holds, arm bars, shoulder locks and more.

It is said, 9 in 10 fights end with either one strike or go to the ground, it is an absolute must to have some ground training that can be applied to a self defence scenario.

We have a great community feel in our classes and have students from all walks of life including doctors in physics, solicitors, web designers, bankers, teachers, policemen and students.

Fighting Fit Martial Arts is the premier facility to practise BJJ in Manchester boasting two highly skilled and experienced black belt instructors: actively competing black belt and Paris IBJJF Open Bronze medallist, Martyn Cahill and 2 time IBJJF European Champion at brown belt and silver medallist at black belt, Anna Mayne.

"Jiu-jitsu is personal efficiency to protect the weaker, which anyone can do. It is the force of leverage against brute force."
~Helio Gracie
